Curley Gets Two Big Wins

The #2 Lacrosse Friars faced off against #1Friends on Tuesday, May 1st in the Curley Bowl in a B Conference contest for first place.  While the Friars led at halftime 7-4, Friends came back to take a 9-8 lead early in the fourth quarter.  The Friars pulled it together and came up with a 11-10 win. Curley is now 8-1 in the B conference and 9-6 overall. Their necxt home game is Friday, May 4th against Glenelg at 4 PM.

Meanwhile, up the hill, the #2 Baseball Friars hosted #1 John Carroll in a MIAA A Conference game.  Senior Paul Nixon (7-1) gave up two runs in the first inning, but then held the Patriots scoreless.  The Friars answered in the bottom of the first with four runs of their own and went on to win 9-2.  Varsity Baseball is riding an 11-game winning streak with a conference record of 14-2 and 23-3 overall.  Next Tuesday, May 8th, Calvert Hall comes to Curley at 4:15 PM in another big game.
