Soccer Defeats Calvert Hall; Finishes Season Tied for First; Playoffs

Curley finished off the regular season with a convincing 5-0 victory over Calvert Hall this evening on the road. Senior Ben Stitz led the way scoring his 30th and 31st goals of the year to break the school's single season scoring record previously shared by Giuliano Celenza '97 and Tre Pulliam '16 (29 goals). Stitz also added two assists on the night. Adrian Avelleneda opened the scoring just four minutes into the match with a beautiful shot into the upper corner. A Stitz free kick gave the Friars a two goal lead seven minutes later. Nick Richardson also found the back of the net in the first half carrying the ball for 30 yards before hitting a bullet past the keeper to the far post. Stitz would score his second of the night from Avellaneda before Tommy Sidleck capped off the scoring neatly finishing off a breakaway.
