After graduating from Curley, Patrick went to New York University for undergraduate studies. He enjoyed the New York experience. “I met my wife there, got to experience all that New York City has to offer, and I had the chance to do some cool internships, such as working for a sports agent and working in the league office of Major League Soccer.”
After NYU, he went to law school at the University of Denver where he worked for a prominent consumer class action firm. That work experience inspired Patrick to start his own firm. Patrick is part-owner of a law firm in Denver, Woodrow & Peluso, LLC, that specializes in consumer class actions. “I like that I get to stand up for the little guy,” he says. “Large corporations take advantage of consumers a little bit at a time, because they think they can get away with it. Without class actions, they would. After all, who would hire a lawyer to sue someone for a few hundred dollars? The class action device allows consumers to fight back. We’re pretty much private attorneys general.” Patrick was selected as a 2017 “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers.
Patrick lives in Denver, Colorado with his wife, Aubrey, who is also a lawyer. He is a huge sports fan and despite being in Colorado he still is a faithful fan of the Orioles. He has picked up golf in the last few years and really enjoys it. He and his wife like to travel, and are excited about their first trip to Europe this August.
When asked about his experience at Curley, the ’07 graduate reflects: “Curley was a terrific experience. I loved every day I was there. I made life-long friends, had great mentors, received a top-class education that set me up well for college and law school, and learned how to act like a professional. It sounds silly, but little things like needing to make sure your top button was buttoned at all times were really beneficial. I learned how to carry myself like a professional at Curley.”
