This past weekend, Byron Pitts '78 spoke to faculty and staff in the Nido Qubein School of Communication on the campus of High Point University as the "Journalist in Residence" regarding various aspects of his outstanding career, and what it takes to be successful in his field. Byron is an Emmy award-winning journalist and news veteran with over 20 years of experience in the television industry.
In attendance at this unique presentation were members of the Class of 2016, Angelo Petruccy and Kyle Rosenberger. Both are juniors at High Point majoring in Sport Communication, while Angelo is also minoring in Journalism.
Angelo had this to say about the experience, "After one of his talks that both Kyle and I eagerly attended, we both introduced ourselves to Mr. Pitts and informed him that we attended Archbishop Curley. As Byron has massive Curley pride, he was overjoyed to hear this and embraced us both. We finished the conversation by joking about the Curley-Calvert Hall rivalry, and how it extends past one's years in high school. It was an awesome experience, and its wild how a Curley connection can bring people together like this."
