ARCHBISHOP CURLEY INDOOR TRACK


2013-14 SEASON SUMMARY

Both the varsity and junior varsity placed in the middle of a 14 team league in the "A" conference of the MIAA. Meets attended were held at Loyola HS, PG Center, Dickinson College, Franklin and Marshall College, Penn State, and 168th St Armory in NYC.  Overall a good season with much growth and improvement accomplished.

 

COACHING STAFF

Gene Hoffman '69, Varsity Head Coach

Gene is a '69 graduate of Archbishop Curley High School and a '74 grad of Towson University.  He is currently coaching his 99th team at Curley and of these, over 25 have been championship teams.   Well over 100 Curley athletes have gone on to compete in college.   Coach Hoffman has a long list of personal championships on his resume--former Mason-Dixon Champion in 400 hurdles and 400 relay,  3-times All-American masters hurdler,  former South Atlantic Champion in 110 hurdles, triple jump and 4x400 relay, to name a few.   Coach Hoffman has also coached the CCBC (Essex) Indoor Track Team and spent 19 years as head field event coach for the Baltimore City Ed Waters Track Club.

2013-14 STUDENT HIGHLIGHTS

Robert Smith-- 3 event medalist at MIAA'S, medalist at Frostbite Inv., and Franklin and Marshall,and Dickinson, All MIAA A Conference
Vince Bonn --- Curley nominee for Penn State Heart of Lion Award
Eric Barstad --- medalist at F&M, MIAA'S
Justin Moultrie --- Medalist at F&M
Matt Boulden -- medalist at F&M , MIAA'S
Mari Lemmie--- Medalist at MIAA'S
Stephen Tauber and Nathan Jecelin were both individual winners in a regular season MIAA meet on the JV level.
