ARCHBISHOP CURLEY TENNIS

2011-12  SEASON SUMMARY

This year’s tennis team had a successful season where players stepped up to contribute is a variety of ways.   Conrad Ellis manned the first singles spot, completing his Curley career in outstanding fashion.  Conrad has served as the number one singles spot since his sophomore year.  He was unanimously voted All MIAA.   Christian Flynn and George Jarkowski were a very successful combination in the remaining singles slots.  Patrick Flynn and Matt Maskell were Curley's doubles entry in the MIAA Tournament, while Doug Delp and Kenechi Iwudyke competed as the second doubles combination.  Ward Tucker improved a great deal during his senior season, while Arinze Iwudyke worked to secure a doubles slot in the upcoming season.   Tony Roman and Austin Knox, new to the squad, competed extremely well in their opportunities.

Curley finished with a 4-4 record, posting big wins against Glenelg and Key.  The team looks forward to next season with many young players filling top slots left by the successful graduating senior class.

Coach Delp and Picarello would like to thank all of the players who worked so hard during the season.
