HOLTHAUS CENTER FOR THE ARTS

The Holthaus Center for the Arts is the current phase of Curley's Strategic Capital Plan in preparation for the upcoming 50th Anniversary of the school.   Funded by donations from the Capital Campaign "In Giving We Receive," this building houses facilities for Blackfriars Theatre, Curley's art programs and choral and instrumental ensembles, and is connected to the rear of the auditorium by several entrances.  A glass walkway leads from the auditorium lobby, along the west side of the auditorium to the new building.  Part of this project was the installation of air-conditioning equipment for the auditorium.  Groundbreaking took place on May 19, 2009.  For photos and details of that ceremony, click HERE.

The building is named to honor Gerry '67 and Connie Holthaus, whose generous contribution gave the Capital Campaign significant momentum.   The dedication took place on April 25, 2010 with a concert that included all of Curley's performing ensembles.  For photos and details of Dedication Sunday, click HERE.
