OPENING EUCHARISTIC LITURGY
BASILICA OF THE ASSUMPTION OF MARY
AUGUST 29, 2010 1:30 PM
The Golden Anniversary celebration of Archbishop Curley High School begins with prayer at the tomb of Archbishop Michael J. Curley. The 10th Archbishop of Baltimore is buried in the undercroft of the Basilica of the Assumption of Mary, which is the first great metropolitan cathedral constructed in the United States after the adoption of the Constitution. This historic landmark, built between 1806 and 1821 is the site of the annual Baccalaureate Mass for Curley's senior class.
Steeped in history, we begin here the celebration of Curley's first fifty years. For the complete story of the event, click HERE.
