JUNIOR RING CEREMONY
CLASS OF 2013
December 4, 2011

On the first Sunday of December 2011, the Class of 2013 gathered in the Auditorium to participate in a Curley Tradition, the Junior Ring Ceremony.   The ceremony was part of a Eucharistic Liturgy in which Fr. Joseph Benicewicz OFM Conv '78 was the principal celebrant; Fr. Matt Foley OFM Conv was the homilist.  After communion, Fr. Joe blessed the rings and distributed them to the students as they came on stage.   The guest speaker for the event was Mr. Barry Brownlee, former principal of Curley.  He shared some memories with the audience of his own  reception of his high school ring, then encouraged the Juniors to be conscious of their responsibility to wear the Curley Ring with pride and integrity.  "You are now upperclassmen at Curley - that means you are leaders.  Be Curley men every day and live out the Franciscan ideals of the school," he said.   After Mass, the students and their guests were invited to the Student Dining Room where they enjoyed a reception and taking photos.  Their parents were understandably proud of them;  the students were proud of themselves at having reached this milestone.
