<< BackM*A*S*H is a SMASH!
The curtain calls have finished; the lights are out; the constumes are hanging on the racks. Blackfriars' Theatre's production of Tim Kelly's play M*A*S*H played to enthusiastic audiences over this past weekend.
Shane Lowry and Connor Quinn played the male leads "Hawkeye" and "Duke" very well. Jacob Ford played the not-so-commanding commander, Col Henry Blake. Austin Hooper was the always efficientCorporal Radar O'Reilly. Sean Syme stole several scenes as the smartly dressed Corporal Kilnger.
This was Mr. Ed Lawrence's 25th production as Directory of Blackfrriars' Theatre. Congratulations and many more!
This was also the first production in Curley's newly renovated auditorium. As part of the current construction of the Holthaus Center for the Arts, the auditorium is now air-conditioned and will be connected to the new building. While this is great news, it represented a unique challenge to Mr. Lawrence and the cast and crew. They pulled the show together in less than 8 weeks! And what a show it was! Thanks to all the members of Blackfriars' Theatre for a very entertaining evening at the theatre.
