BERNIE REIF MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The legacy of Curley soccer can be traced back to its first teams and Coach Bernie Reif, who had an impact on not only Curley, but also on the entire soccer community over the last 50 years.  With his passing in November 2007, the soccer community lost a great man.  You may have known Coach Reif personally, and even if you did not, chances are he knew you.  He was a fixture on the sidelines at Curley games through the decades and at club matches around Baltimore.  Without a doubt, Coach Reif was rightfully called the "Mayor of Soccer" for his commitment and contributions to the sport.

To honor Coach Reif , we are raising funds to establish an endowed scholarship in his name at Archbishop Curley High School.  This scholarship will benefit current and future soccer players who would otherwise not have the opportunity to attend the school. The grant amounts awarded are based on the earnings of the invested principal of the scholarship.  The minimum amount needed to establish an endowed scholarship is $25,000.  We are asking all Curley soccer alumni to join with us in this effort to honor a man worthy of our recognition and to offer our ongoing support for future generations of Curley soccer players.
