College Counseling

COLLEGE COUNSELING


     At Curley, we have a four year comprehensive college counseling program. We place a strong emphasis, starting in the 9th grade, of educating our young men and their families on the college search and college application processes.

     As a student of Archbishop Curley High School, you should have the goal of attending a four year college or university. However, it is not as simple as earning good grades and performing well on standardized tests. With over 3,500 higher education institutions, you need a plan in order to determine which ONE school you will attend. Our services and programs are here to help you make a plan that makes sense for you.

     During your search you will learn about colleges, about other parts of the country (and perhaps the world), and most importantly you will learn about yourself. You should choose a college that feels right for you. Many people will tell you where they think you should go, but it is you who will spend four years there. Therefore, it must be you who decides where you will be happiest. You will have a far more successful college search if you are the one doing the work: setting up visits, asking questions on tours, and filling out questionnaires. Remember, the goal is to find colleges where you can be productive and successful.
