THE BACCALAUREATE MASS
The Baccalaureate Mass for the Class of 2010 was held at the Basilica of the Assumption on Cathedral Street in Baltimore on May 26, 2010. This is the last time the seniors gather to celebrate the Liturgy. In keeping with Curley tradition, just prior to entering the Basilica, the seniors file pass the crypt where Archbishop Michael J. Curley is buried. Mr. Gaffney and the Curley Luminare Choir led the assembly in song. Fr. Michael Martin OFM Conv '79, President of Archbishop Curley High School was the principal celebrant and homilist. In his words, Fr. Michael drew a comparison to the series-ending finales on TV. "But this is not a series finale for you. We all want to see you succeed next season, and in your twenty-fifth season, and in your fiftieth season...And the only way to make that happen, is to stay connected to the vine who is Christ," said Fr. Michael, referring to the evening's Gospel Reading from John about the Vine and the Branches.
