Holy Hour at Curley

The Curley Chapel was full on Wednesday evening with students, parents, grandparents, friars, faculty – one student even brought his girlfriend. This was the last Holy Hour of the year. Over one hundred people were praying, singing and meditating for an hour before the Blessed Sacrament.

The monthly Holy Hour, from 7-8 PM, is sponsored and executed by the members of FYM, the Franciscan Youth Ministry which is Curley’s Campus Ministry Group.  The evening generally starts off with pizza and games for the students as they wind down from school and prepare for the Holy Hour.  At 7 PM, the students and guests gather in Chapel and one of the friars places the Blessed Sacrament in the monstrance on the altar.  The Praise Band plays and leads the singing. A reflection is given. And there is time for quiet prayer.

On Wednesday it was Brother Joe Cannon who gave the reflection and later Fr. Matt blessed the assembly with the Blessed Sacrament.  Ethan Bower, Dan Nakasone, Conner Chaikowsky and Noah Bahur were the Praise Band musicians this evening.  After the last song, everyone applauded and moved to the conference center for snacks.

It is nice to know that these Holy Hour participants are praying for us.

There's no better way to get to know Archbishop Curley High School than in person.
