Students returned to the Curley Auditorium for orientation on Monday (Freshmen and Sophomores) and Tuesday (Juniors and Seniors.) The morning began with prayer led by Fr. Donald. After a reading from the Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes (“There is a time to be born…”) Fr. Donald encouraged the students to “Make Every Moment Count.” This is the theme for the school year. Prayers were then made for each class and for the faculty, staff, parents, alumni and benefactors of the school. Then each student recited the Curley Pledge, a pledge they first recited on their Freshman Retreat.
Mr. Kohler took over, reminding students of their responsibility in the education journey they are embarking on. He especially encouraged the juniors and seniors to become leaders in the school. Mr. Bowden spoke about the Dress Code and expectations for student behavior.
Freshmen did an abbreviated schedule of their Day 1 classes, so they could meet their teachers and find the classrooms. All students received their schedules and had their ID Card/Yearbook photo taken. Classes start on August 31st.
