Blackfriars’ Theatre will present their spring musical the weekend of March 18th-20th. This year the spring musical will be “A Salute to Sondheim”.  Stephen Sondheim, one of Broadway’s greatest composers and lyricists, passed away on November 26, 2021 at the age of 91. Our show will be a musical revue highlighting the many works of Mr. Sondheim over the last 60 years. In addition to the many vocal numbers to be presented, there will also be a few dance numbers.

Anyone interested in being part of this tribute needs to attend the audition scheduled for Sunday, January 23rd beginning at 1:00 PM in the auditorium. At the audition everyone will do a dance audition and a vocal audition. For your dance audition you should be dressed in comfortable clothes and shoes. For your vocal audition you MUST come with a prepared piece from the musical theatre or classical vocal repertoire that shows your range, tone, and vocal ability. Bring your sheet music with you. Our musical director will play piano for your audition.
