Members of the St. Bonaventure Scholars Program traveled to Virginia to visit Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington. They toured the mansion, now under restoration, and learned about Washington’s legacy and the history of the home. They paid their respects at Washington’s tomb as well as the burial site of the enslaved people. This visit was part of the St. Bonaventure Days of Discovery, and was intended to introduce the scholars to the leadership characteristics of President Washington.
