With the appointment of Principal Jeremy Joseph ’96 as the school’s next President, effective July 1, 2026, Archbishop Curley High School is launching a search for the next Principal. 

Position Summary:  PRINCIPAL

Archbishop Curley High School invites applications for the position of Principal for the 2026-2027 academic year.  Located in Baltimore, Archbishop Curley High School is a Roman Catholic college preparatory school rooted in the Franciscan tradition. Our mission is the development of the Curley Man, who is challenged to reach his maximum academic and personal potential leading him to be a man of faith, character, discipline, and service to others. Our Principal plays a vital role in leading the educational program as well as all student services in fulfillment of the school’s mission. Demonstrating a genuine commitment to Gospel values, the Catholic faith, and our Franciscan tradition, our Principal will be a creative and innovative educational leader who seeks to serve a diverse community. The Principal will be an instructional leader who fosters a collaborative spirit among the faculty and staff, encourages innovation in the curriculum and classroom, and inspires all in the Curley Family to maximize their potential. Our Principal reports directly to the President. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads the school as an example of faith and integrity. 
  • Hires and supervises all members of the teaching faculty as well as academic support staff in consultation with the School President. 
  • Ensures quality instruction, provides professional development, and fosters a culture of accountability. 
  • Ensures that all school records are maintained according to state and archdiocesan guidelines.
  • Works to establish school safety protocols and procedures.
  • Provides opportunities for spiritual and intellectual growth of students, faculty, and staff.
  • Provides for the scheduling and supervision of all student activities.
  • Coordinates the responsibilities of the Assistant Principal(s) and Main Office staff.
  • Develops the school calendar in collaboration with other stakeholders.
  • Oversees teacher certification and employee records and administers the personnel policies in accord with the Archdiocese of Baltimore. 
  • Serves as the moderator of the Parents’ Guild.
  • Participates in School Board and Board Committee meetings and activities.
  • Appoints Assistant Principal(s) and Department Chairs.
  • Evaluates the performance of all department chairs and faculty members, and oversees the evaluation of academic and student service support and professional staff.
  • Directs and implements policies regarding student promotion, graduation, and discipline in accord with school policy. 
  • Establishes a regular review of regulations and compliance. 

Qualifications:

  • Practicing Catholic, who is fully able to model Christian values, adhere to the teachings of the church, and participate in the sacramental life of the church. 
  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in educational administration, supervision, curriculum development or education. 
  • Qualifications needed for MSDE secondary licensure. 
  • Minimum of five years of leadership (Principal or AP) experience in a Catholic school is preferred. 
  • Minimum of five years of secondary teaching experience in a Catholic school is preferred. 
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in an educational environment that includes the ability to inspire. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
  • A desire to embrace the values of a Franciscan education and a demonstrated commitment to the mission of Catholic education.
