Serving with Purpose in Guatemala

Each afternoon, our group spent time at Amor de Patricia, a home for children and young adults who have experienced neglect or abuse. Through games, activities, conversations, and simply being present, our students built meaningful relationships and witnessed the incredible resilience, joy, and hope of the children they met. Out of respect for the privacy and protection of the children, photographs were not permitted at the service site.

Beyond our service, the group embraced the rich culture of Guatemala through authentic experiences, exploring the streets and markets of Antigua, making traditional chocolate, riding tuk-tuks, climbing the Pacaya Volcano on horseback, zip-lining above the breathtaking landscapes of Lake Atitlán, and sharing authentic Guatemalan meals with our host family.

Throughout the week, our students were challenged to step outside their comfort zones, deepen their understanding of social justice, and encounter Christ in the people and situations we encountered.
