Mr. Mark Craig, B.S., M.M.

Mr. Craig earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Towson State University (now Towson University) in 1996 where he also won the Music Talent Award competition in 1993.  He then earned his Master’s degree in music performance at Indiana University, Bloomington in 1998 and continued his studies in the Doctor of Musical Arts program at the University of Cincinnati, College Conservatory of Music from 1999 to 2001.

Mr. Craig joined the faculty at Towson University in 2006 through 2022.  There, Professor Craig taught applied percussion lessons, masterclasses, percussion ensemble and was the director of the Steel Drum ensemble.

During his career Mr. Craig has performed with numerous orchestras including the Columbus (IN) Philharmonic, Washington DC Chamber Orchestra and the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra.  He has also performed under the direction of notable conductors such as Gerard Schwarz (Seattle Symphony) and Frederick Fennell (Eastman Wind Ensemble).

A highlight for Mr. Craig during his time at Towson University was to perform at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in 2021 as part of the Colgrass Project, a percussion group which showcased the early music of Pulitzer Prize winning composer Michael Colgrass.

Before joining Curley, Mr. Craig taught band, orchestra, general and exploratory music courses in Baltimore County at Stoneleigh Elementary and Southwest Academy Middle.
