Mr. Lawrence earned his BS degree from Towson University and most recently taught for eight years at St. Joseph School in Fullerton after having taught at Curley for 26 years. While at Curley he taught mathematics and theatre arts. In 2019 he was recognized for his 40 years of teaching in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. He retired from classroom teaching in June 2022. In 2004, Mr. Lawrence was selected as Curley’s Teacher of the Year.
Mr. Lawrence has been the Blackfriars’ director for 25 years, directing 49 different productions. In addition, he continues to work with both the Curley Band and Choir Programs for their dress rehearsals and concerts. He drives the equipment truck for the band on their annual band trip. You will also see him at special Curley events taking care of sound and lighting needs in the school auditorium. This season marks his 31st year filming Curley’s Varsity Football games.
